Rules & Terms
Last updated 22 August 2026
bids.city is a novelty virtual city. You bid real money to place your brand on a
building or an ad spot inside a fictional 3D city. It is entertainment, not real estate, advertising
guarantees, or an investment. By placing a bid you agree to these rules.
1. How bidding works
- You choose a spot and place a bid. The amount you pay is your bid, and on a plot it sets the size of your building. The minimum bid is $1.
- Your brand name, website, and logo (fetched from the website you provide) appear on the spot once payment completes.
- Payments are processed by Polar, our merchant of record, who handle billing, receipts, and tax.
2. Bids are final — no refunds
- Your building is delivered immediately on payment. Because of this you agree to waive any cooling-off / cancellation right, and bids are non-refundable.
- Exception — automatic refunds: if a payment can’t be honored — you paid less than your bid, or the spot became unavailable before we could place it — you are refunded in full and nothing is placed.
3. Takeovers — you can lose your spot
- Every spot is contestable — plots and ad spots (airport, car parks, self-storage, buses, sky banners) alike. Anyone can take over a spot you hold by bidding higher: at least the current bid plus the greater of $1 or 10%.
- If you are taken over, your building or ad is replaced by theirs and your earlier payment is not refunded.
4. Managing your spot
- There are no accounts. When you buy, you receive a private manage link. Keep it safe — it is the only way to edit your spot, and anyone with it can edit it.
- If you are taken over, your manage link stops working for that spot.
5. Content rules
- You are responsible for the brand name, website, and logo you submit, and you confirm you have the right to use them.
- No illegal, infringing, deceptive, fraudulent, malicious, adult, or hateful content, and no impersonation of others.
- We may reject, edit, hide, or remove any content and reclaim the spot without refund if it breaks these rules. To report content, email us (below).
6. Other brands shown
Brands, names, and logos in the city are placed by users. Their appearance does not imply any affiliation
with, or endorsement by, those brands or bids.city. Trademarks belong to their respective owners.
7. No warranty
bids.city is provided “as is”, for entertainment. We make no guarantee of uptime, visibility, traffic,
clicks, or any commercial result. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to
the amount you paid for the spot in question.
8. Changes
We may update these rules or change, pause, or discontinue the city at any time. Continued use after a
change means you accept the updated rules.
9. Contact & governing law
Questions, disputes, and content reports: syed@berkway.co.uk.
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales.
